WeBike formed after a small group of women happened to sit at the same table at a cycling master plan public engagement workshop in the spring of 2014. As the workshop progressed and ideas were shared, we recognized a recurring theme in our discussions - the need to address women and family transportation cycling as part of the cycling community. Women's Everyday Bicycling (WeBike) Association was founded in Februrary 2015 as a non-profit society under the BC Society Act. Our group's executive are volunteers.

WeBike focuses on education, advocacy, and the celebration of women and family cycling as a fun, safe, and economical choice for transportation. We hope to share knowledge and information about family cycling, to host events and rides that celebrate cycling, to advocate for women and family transportation cycling, to act as role models for women who may want to cycle but are unsure how to get started, to offer workshops or information sessions about subjects such as bike maintenance, clothing, and gear; purchasing a bicycle, and route selection. We create space - both virtual and real - for women to share ideas, knowledge, and encouragement.
